Yes, the neck measuremnts,!

Reason being, I operate the ultimate template thread, Here

And, well, this idea was proposed,

Hey, not sure if this has been mentioned, but I figured that the best place for this would be here:

Maybe some measurements for neck profiles (C,D,V, etc...) could be put in here? that way it'd be possible to print these out to use for reference when carving necks? Like, Measurements at the nut,5th, 7th, 12th, and 19th? (just an idea)

ie.
50's, 60's era LP's
Wizard (all different ones)
ESP
Jackson
etc

shouldn't be hard at all, just a matter of measuring the neck and drawing it up on CAD, but I figured it'd be neat to have a go-to guide for anyone who's looking to get an accurate representataion of the neck shape if you're building for you/someone else

So i decided to do it. I only have one kind of neck, and no local guitar place, so if you all could list your guitar, and the measure of the neck profile at the following frets: nut, 5th, 7th. 12th, and 19th it would be great.

All help would be appreicated

I'd be more than happy to help, but, uh, one thing:

How does one go about measuring their neck profile?

^ this, or a vernier caliper if you have one. if you can, post the radius as well, (ie. 10", etc.) and what your shape is called (Wizard II, 60's profile) etc that would kick ass

I have a Jackson Soloist style neck. Very close to the actual soloists that I've played. Dims in a sec.

Edit: Ok, got them.

Measured with a digital caliper. Values in mm.

Neck shape
: flat-ish C (may even be a D?)
Fretboard radius: No idea. Might be a 12" or 16". It's fairly flat. Similar to my old Kramer Striker 400ST (Kramer used 16").
Neck radius: No idea.

Width:
Nut: 41.87
5: 46.68
7: 48.19
12: 51.15
19: 54.34
24: 55.89

Thickness:
Nut: 20.47
5: 20.54
7: 20.86
12: 21.98
19: 26.86
24: 26.86

I Don't have my Caliper here right now, (at home, I'm at school) but when I get mine, i'll do 2 things:

1.) measure my Epi Les Paul's neck, jackson style (RR2 nut) and bass (ESP F-Series)
and
2.) I'll post a link to a front view of an f-series (guitar and bass)

I have an Edwards with an Ultra Thin U neck, I'll measure it when I can get my hands on some calipers and when I get it back from the shop (Getting a new pickup put in )
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Keep in mind, this is a neck-though and after the 2th fret it's on a steeper curve to meet the thickness of the body (47.2mm). I lightly scratched my fretboard at the first fret getting the nut measurement though, as the strings were on it
ESP Thin U Profile (in mm):
Width
Nut: 42
5: 47.9
7: 49.6
9: 50.8
12: 52.5
15: 54.7
19: 56.6 (fretboard width)
24: 57.8 (fretboard width)

Thickness
Nut: 20
5: 21.4
7: 22.3
9: 23.2 (I think)
12: 29
15: 29.7
19: 53.9 (over the body, plus the thickness of the fretboard. Very hard to measure)

Kramer 610 (Pacer Custom II copy) neck
Width
Nut: 42
5: 47.9
7: 49.6
12: 52.5
15: 54.5
19: 55.5
22: 56.4

Thickness
Coming soon!
