I was wondering what kind of amp would I need to play a small gig?
Would I need a stack or half stack, or a combo amp, like 100watts?

I was looking at the Zakk Wylde Marshall Micro Stack, but I wasn't sure.

I'm kinda cheap, hoping to stay within $500.

You dont need 100 watts for a small gig. 30w tube will do you fine. What genre?
Gear:
Agile Ash RB 828
Schecter C-7 (old 90s style headstock)
Handbuilt 6-string V
Handbuilt Baritone scale 6 string Iceman-copy
Pod HD300

Thrash. We've got our own stuff, but we're doing a cover of Seek and Destroy and Caught in a Mosh.

Also, couldn't they mic my amp as well?

the zack wylde micro stack doesn't sound too good, especially if you're gigging with it. i'm not too well versed in the world of thrash, but maybe a Marshall JCM 2000 combo would do it for you, but again I'm not sure how much gain you need.

i was hoping maybe he'd catch a sweet deal on ebay. if he's gonna go VK, he might as well get the 212 because it has extra features like resonance and presence, but again i don't know how much that would help in thrash. thrash...
