So ive asked around a bit, and I've decided that the best thing for me for me is a power amp and a cab, rather than a combo.
The only trouble now is, i haven't a clue what sort of amp+cab to get :/
I want a metal sound, but i've got my X3 live for tone and effects.

My budget is about £300, any one have any suggestions?

Cheers

A Tech21 Power Engine would probably be your best bet if you can get a hold of one. Basically it's a powered cab designed with floor based preamps and processors in mind.
ESP LTD EC-256 and a Fender Deluxe VM

That does look like it would be ideal for me, and you dont need a header for it?

Any idea where i could get one in the U.K?

If youre willing to look real hard, there is a thing called the Crate powerblock, it's solid state, but 150 watts, that should be enough headroom without that nasty transistor clipping to happen too much.
