Can anyone explain to me how to work out the folowing question?

I am provided with a stock of cells at 50x the required conc. What volume in microlitres do I need to add to a reaction mix with a final volume of 2 mL?

Thanks

science includes biology, so close enough.

Hardly. That's like saying Harry Potter is literature, or Kensai is funny.

it's 4:50am and i have a headache but my guess is: convert 2mL into microlitres... then divide by 50 to get the required amount, since it tells you that you're starting with 50x the req'd conc? if i'm wrong don't blame me, tis just a guess ^_^

So whats your definition of science?

she's right. remember:
C1V1=C2V2

so if C1=50C2, then you can plug that in, rearrange and get:
V1=V2/50 or 2mL/50 = 0.04mL i think?

So in other words it's completely true?

Clever girl, thanks.

I converted 2ml to 2000microlitres. 2000/50 = 40 microlitres.

Thanks alot.
