Ok, I can find too many threads about people's favorite guitarists, but WHAT ABOUT THE BASSISTS??? I couldn't find any on this subject. I play bass and electric guitar, and my brother also plays bass guitar as well. What is everybody's favorite bass guitarist? My favorites are:

Cliff Burton (R.I.P.) (Metallica 1982-1986)
Les Claypool (Primus)
Mike Inez (Alice in Chains)
Dean Bernardini (Chevelle)
Flea (RHCP)
Geddy Lee (Rush)

John Entwistle is more than just "the dude from the Who". He is an amazing bassist for more than just that song.

Otherwise, Jeff Ament is damn good. Les Claypool goes without saying too.

Is that a ukulele in your pants, or did you just rip ass to the tune of "Aloha Oi"?

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.

In Modern Rock? Jeff Ament.

Being the best isn't about being flashy and fast when in a band- it's about playing what's needed. And he does exactly that without being boring. In that sense I find him better than Victor Wooten and Jaco Pastorius. Although I can't stand either anyways.

Mike Watt, Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Les Claypool, Charles Mingus, and Pete Hook.

There's a "Your Favourite..." thread stickied at the top of this page. Use it.

*reported*

...which doesn't include bassists per the first post.

Uber-rocker, you asshole do me a huge favor and STOP REPORTING MY THREADS!!!. If you don't have anything to say about what people are talking about, then **** OFF.

Well, this thread was reported, but nothing happened, so is it ok to post in it? *hopes*

Well, I agree with Flea, Jeff Ament and Cliff Burton (even if he doesn't belong to MR).
Scott Reeder of Kyuss is one of my favorites, his tone is amazing and I love to listen to him playing his own things underneath those big riffs Josh puts down.
If I took this cigarette and put it out on you...

...would you love me?

Krist Novoselic, not a great bassist, but he was fun to watch on stage.
