can anyone recommend a good 12 acoustic? im in UK and anything around 500 is the price range. i dont know much about the less known brands so i need a bit of help finding a decent one.

the main use of the guitar will be for folk styles

Yamaha has consistantly provided durable and nice-sounding instruments at a reasonable price......if you haven't bought one yet, take a look at them.

There are others as well, but I'd start there.

Ok Mr. 40+ yrs experience. Here's one for ya. How about an affordable 12'er acoustic LEFT HANDED? USA prices of course. Oh, and by affordable, I mean upwards of $500. $600 is absolute tops tho, otherwise my wife will cut my....well, you get the point.
Oh, I should point out that I too have been playing for about 30+ yrs myself, and in my experience, they just aren't available, unless of course I do a custom order through Martin, Taylor, Gibson or the likes. I can't afford that.
