If your facing the guitar, which way would you turn the truss rod to loosen the truss rod and give it more bow? Clockwise or counterclockwise?

if you need more gap, you are turning 1/4 turn Counter clockwise.

after you've measured the middle gap relief.

dont force the turn.
that's a small amount.

let the guitar settle. and remeasure.

Is that what I should do if I want the strings to be closer from the frets? Will it be easier to play fast?( I'm more metal so speed is important)

If you want to lower the action, do it at the nut or the saddles.

Don't ever touch the truss rod unless there is a problem with neck itself.
