I could hear all of them through headphones, with notched volume response (ie 13 khz was louder than 12 khz) don't know if that's the audio files or the fact that i have profound hearing loss.

its supposed to be the other way around i think.

ex 18khz is for people who can hear really well.

17khz. I turned up 18khz really loud because I couldn't hear it, and my sister screamed a bit.

I can hear 18kHz using my laptop's speakers at fairly low volume.

Actually, in physics this morning we were talking about sound waves, and humans can hear up to 22kHz. Personally, i can only hear 19.5-20kHz, using the same audacity technique as the author of that website.

#24

You can play them all at the same time.

18 didn't come through the speakers very well, i had to turn up the volume and once i heard something, it was loud. My speakers are damn old and sound fuzzy at certain sound frequencies, though. There are also a couple spots on the volume knob where it cuts out half of the sound.

for me 18 is less of a 'noise' and more of a sensation in my ears if that makes any sense

my mum's computer monitor sometimes makes a really high pitched noise and it drives me nuts because she can't hear it and it hurts my ears! i can't wait to be old so i can't hear monitors and tvs making silly noises anymore

I can just hear the 18khz one. And I'm 20. Yay for excellent hearing!

My sight is a bit crap though and I hardly ever wear my glasses, so I figure it's just my hearing compensating
