First of all I am a begginer so bare with me. I have a Squire strat that I got a few weeks ago. All works well except that I am getting metal to metal sound after picking the low E string ( top E ). It's like it's vibrating off the metal off the frets. It deosnt do it all the time but if i'm playing a power chord it will do it. It sounds fine the instant after you pick it but split second later you get the weird sound. I thought maybe by raising the string height it might help but its not . Any suggestions?

yes, string height may help... I think this is a common prob with squires, mine used to do it

raise your action... meaning use the screws on the bridge to raise ur string height. if tht doesnt work u may need to adjust ur truss rod but ask ur guitar shop to do that
