I was thinking of getting a Jackson KVX10 X King V or an Ibanez RG5EX1

Wich should I get?

none...
imo:
kvx10, pointless guitar, not the best pups
rg5ex1, ugly paint, bad hardware...

what's your budget and kinds of music do you play?

KVX isn't bad, I'm not an Ibby player so I can't help you there.

I agree with Ghold though, some information outside of your choices would be nice.

Otherwise just play a bunch and see what you like best.

What's your budget? There's all sorts of recommendations depending on the budget.

Ibanez or a Jackson DXMG would probably do you fine.

Just don't know how much you're willing to spend.

Depending on whether or not you need a trem, there a quite a few Ibby models.

S series and RG series have models that fall in that range. Pickups aren't going to be so hot, but those can be upgraded.

Schecter also has the excellent C-1 with a Floyd on it for 499.

Just head to the local music store, play a few and see what you think man. Your preferences might be LTDs, Ibanez, Jackson, Schecter, or whatever.

It's more useful to at least get a feel for what you're playing, looking at pictures tells you nothing about a guitar plays.

Shcecter necks are kinda big. Imo go for an RR3 or a KE3. If ur low budget get the DXMG

Schecter necks aren't that thick in my opinion.

The neck doesn't need to be paper thin to shred though, I can fly on a Les Paul if I need to. Depends on how it's set up and the level the action is at.

Preferences though, and the TS hasn't stated where his preferences are.
