I've only been playing for about six months but I am ready to upgrade from my Marshall MG10. Looking for something bigger, my budget is $600 and I want something that I will not outgrow as I improve. The type of music I like is rock/metal, ie AC/DC, KISS, Motley Crue, Van Halen.

Some than I am considering, solely based on reading this forum are: Vox Valtronix AD 100, Peavy Vypyr 75, Peavy Vypyr Tube 60, Peavy Valveking 112, Peavy Classic 30 Tube, Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Remember I am new at this, so try not to flame me too badly for some of these choices .

BTW, I play a Ibanex GAX 70.

lots of peaveys in there, and for good reason-read the testimonials on their site-some of them are pretty impressive.

A Peavey Classic 30, or maybe something like a Marshall DSL601 or TSL601 second hand. Look into second hand tube combos.

If you didn't play rock/metal ie AC/DC Kiss etc

A 75w Vypyr sounds good for you.

I would probably get a cube30, great practise amp. Later on when you really get a band, and start performing etc. you can look into good tube amps.

OR. save up some more now, and get a nice tube combo/stack

Buying used means that it works.

Go on your craigslist and look up a b-52 at 112 or go to your local guitar center and see if they have it on clearance like it is at my store.

I'm now leaning toward a Cube 30, Vox Valtronix AD30VT or a VYPYR 30, in this order. Right now it will be more of a practice amp, but I want something that I could use for a garage band at some point.

Any other recommendations?
