Ok, is it possible to flatten an 18" crash without breaking it? Im trying to get hold of some metal to cut and shape for a project ive got going, and a guy I know offered me an 18" crash he doesn't use anymore. For the project it needs to be flat so that i can cut it and bolt it on, but im worried that if it is too domed then its just going to crack when i try and flatten it.

Also - what would you use to cut a crash?

What is the project?

Just go out and buy some metal, cymbals should stay as such.
