You go to www.google.com and in the little text box you type "how to intonate a guitar" and hit "enter".

turning the screw moves the saddle closer or farther from the nut, which effectively changes the string length. Your goal is to get the string in perfect tune at both the open position and with the string fretted at the 12th fret.

once you have the screw thing in place, you need to get the right sized allen wrench and loosen the the hex screw found in front of the saddle. Then you adjust, retune, check the intonation and repeat.
