I think you need to think less about an axe and more about an amp. Try $1,100 for each? Even a 59' LP will sound crappy if run through a crap amp. And no offense, but a 15-watt solid-state combo will do no justice to a $2,200 guitar.

Anyway, try an LTD EC-1000 and a B-52 half stack or a Peavey JD-30T.

You should spend your money on a nice amp like $1000 and spend the rest on something like a Schecter C-1 Blackjack, comes with floyd rose, 2 duncan blackouts, nice guitar.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Treat yourself to a better amp, and get a decent guitar along with it. Basically what everyone else said.
#23
For $1000, you better get yourself a freaking Peavey 5150 or Bugera 333XL or something, Mesa Boogie and not a Marshall MG.

What about the Eclipse and a Marshal MG half stack?

Dear god no. The MG is like an oversized practice amp. DOES NOT SOUND GOOD. Just get a decent tube combo and split the funds 50-50.
