I'm auditioning for a musical in the spring and was wondering what would be a good song to audition with. I have a few ideas, but just wanted to get more ideas.

what are your few ideas? what type of musical? what will you be playing?

We're doing Grease as our spring musical. Perferable any song from a musical would be what I want to do, but anything really rock related.

So far I picked a few songs from Sweeney Todd and Phantom of the Opera. I might choose a song from Spamalot too..

If you're an instrumentalist just swing through a IV-V-I blues for a little bit, play upper structures and all that hip ****.
If you're a vocalist, pick a song from the role you want in the play. Best way to clinch an audition is to show ability to perform whats required.

I Would Do Anything For Love - Meatloaf

It's a pretty rocking song and you have to be a hell of a singer to pull it off.

If you're doing Grease, sing a song from Grease. Phantom of the Opera couldn't be more different to Grease so it might seem a bit irrelevant as an audition, and Sweeney Todd is quite possibly the worst musical ever, you'll never find a song from it that can show off anything decent about you.

So again, I suggest singing a song from Grease or another upbeat musical like chicago

Uhm, if you want to show vocal range, I'd say basically anything by Pain of Salvation or Queen.

If you want to show guitar proficiency I'd say Paganini's 5th Caprice.
