for guitar tones used in Death Metal. What the basic amplifier EQ settings best compatible with the crunchy sound of extreme metal? Amount of distortion? Amount of volume? Others?

Thank you very much!

Boss HM-2

Actually I'm a bass player. I just need some advices/tips to help my guitar player on his guitar sound. Those 3 are his equipment.

well those settings should give him a start, its really a matter of personal preference but tell him to try those and it should help him narrow it down - he might need to tweek the bass and treb based on his amp

Never used the HM-2 - but tell him to adjust the level to around 2-3 (not too high), adjust the color to his liking, and crank the dist to pretty much full - put amp on clean with the settings I mentioned and he should be close enough
