p-p-p-powerbook!
If you're a hot chick you've probably got a good chance with the lead singer or guitar player, If you're a little bit overweight, you should probably go for the drummer. If you're a dude, go for the bass player

You'll have to spend a little more and build your own.

Core 2 Duo 2.5 or above
4GB RAM
nVidia 9800GT

...modes and scales are still useless.

+1
A custom build will get the best bang for the buck.

Try 3GB of good RAM
A fast dual core processor...something like an Intel Dual core
I beleive the Gforce 9800GT is around $100 now so thats good to get.

For that price you would probably have to build one yourself to get decent performance so I'd do that, it's honestly not that hard to put it together and there are lots of guides on the internet to help.
Mr. Butlertron are you A handsome B smart C scrap metal or D all of the above
Scangrade thats easy I'm A and B but not C, so it can't be all of the above, but you can't fill in two ovals Nooo!
Mr. Butlertron the answer is C... you fuckwad

I'm talking pounds btw, not dollars

Is this good? http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/systemview.aspx?id=97

I know building my own would be cheaper but i don't really know how to! Is it easy?

ty for replies

Memory is a bit slow for high end gaming (667Mhz, 800Mhz would be better)
Graphics card could be better, although the memory on that 9600GS is high, it's not a great card.
Processor would be good for the job.

For £580, not worth it.

I quite like my Hp Pavilion, but Idk. it's good for games but I suck at computers.

for 400, you're looking at a very spartan custom-build. and I mean VERY spartan. Like you'll get motherboard, processor, 3d card and maybe a hard drive for that.
The rig:
Gibson SG faded special -> Marshall MG 50/100 (working on a valve amp)
Backup: Vintage AV1
Newcastle United

You could build a computer for £300, it just wouldn't be particularly up to date.

£400 will get you a Mac Mini (:

I already have an old imac and 2 ibooks (well the ibooks are my dad's but I use them) but I just want a fairly decent desktop computer.

I would buy one of the new iMacs if I had the money, but alas I don't
I guess you can get a good spec PC for less money.

Also, my friend just spent his car money on one of the new iMacs! Apaarently it's really nice Haven't been around to see it yet though

Basically a mac mini is an imac without the screen (:
