My Marshall has died on me (I wasn't exactly suprised) so now I need a new amp.

I need an amp loud enough for a band (with a loud drummer), I would like to have tubes, and my price range is about £300, I don't want to pay much more than that.

I want a good clean channel AND a good overdrive, I mainly play rock/metal, eg metallica, iron maiden, nirvana etc but sometimes play more bluesy kinda stuff.

At the moment i'm looking at a peavey valveking 112, and maybe a peavey vypyr, but I'm open to suggestions.

So, what do I get?
Gear:

Fender Highway One Strat
Ibanez RG321MH
Cort SFX-1
Peavey Valveking 112
Marshall MG30DFX
Morley Power Wah
Mapex VX 22 (drum kit)
Mahalo flying V ukulele

VC30 >>> Valveking IMO. The VK is good as an entry-level tube amp but it's a bit overhyped.

^ what he said. If you want an all round good amp for the price, then gow ith the valveking. If you don't mind only low gain on the dist. channel or fancy great cleans, then go for a VC30.
