What's the best route to go on a 200-300$ budget?

$200 on an USB audio interface
$100 on a decent mic (Shure something or other)

you're not going to be able to to do any significant multitrack recording unless you spend a whole lot more

Reaper is a pretty neat program if you're on a budget (I constantly surprise myself with what I can do with it)

I have a DigiTechRp350 I can do for instrumental mics, i was just wanting opinions there. What I really wanted were vocal preferences
