I've decided I'm getting one of these. I'll be checking both out at Guitar Center next weekend to hear for myself, but in the meantime......your thoughts???

Now I just still need to figure out which guitar I'm bringing home with it.

The spider is terrible. It sounds horrible IMO and they seem to break a lot. The sound especially bad when you turn the up.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

I've played both but I bought the Vypyr 30. I think the Vypyr is alot better personally. It sounds better at higher volumes than the Spider III and it has analog distortion instead of digital like the Spider III.

I bought the spider III 3 months before the viper came out...I had no idea about the viper or I would have waited. In other words...get the peavey, it's much better and you wont regret it

The Vypyr is leaps and bounds ahead of the spider. Definitely go for Peavey over Line 6 when it comes to amps.

Owned a Spider III 75w, and played on the Vypyr 75, and the Vypyr is much better in terms of volume, tone, # of effects, quality of effects, and tone at high volumes

Get the Vypyr.
I was impressed with it, and I'm not usually impressed by SS amps.

The Vox Valvetronix and Roland Cube series, however, were all in the shops then.

Wow, this thread isn't bias at all... Rofl.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

Why did you bump this exactly? I'm sure the TS has made a decision by now
