We're talking about having a girl for our band and we said yes because she's hot and she sings well.
But we're a metal band.
And what is the Pit's opinion on having girls as singers.

I prefer a female singer to male singer.

...modes and scales are still useless.

I even tried dressing up as a fly myself, and throwing myself out of the window in the hope that they will follow me. But to no avail.

Is she talented? Do you all get on well? Is she into the music you guys play? If so, why not?

Took the words right out of my mouth.

In my opinion, its kinda cool. I think you should have her join the band. Great voice, hot, and someone to have sex with on the bus.

Unless she is a harsh vocalist, I usually prefer that singing is shared with a male vocalist. Also, I love beauty and the beast vocals. It doesn't really matter though.

That's for metal.

Otherwise, female vocals are just as good... accept for folk music. Nothing is better than a baritone voice for folk music.

Scene girls shouting into microphones =/= good

Otherwise, they're not too bad. Especially Angela Gossow.

EDIT: Pics if she's hot.

hayley williams used to be hot...

Fixed.

Either way, female vocals can work very well, it depends on the vocal style and music, I would say that the vocals in both Arch Enemy and Aghora, while stylistically stupidly far from each other, both fit the music very well.

Female and male vocals sound good together, try to work that in.

Is there screaming in your metal? Is she good at it? If there isn't and she isn't and her singing fits your music, go for it.

generally not, but i like them in some duets, and live they're fine. No one in my band can sing, except my fat friend that can sound like a large elderly black guy, so we're considering having a friend that's a girl and can sing really well sing for us, at least temporarily.
