some disturbed is in drop Db, just like system of a down writes stuff in both drop C and drop Db.

here's some songs in full step down (called D standard, just so you know):

All That Remains - Six
All That Remains - The Air That I Breathe
All That Remains - Not Alone
All That Remains - This Calling
Metallica - Sad But True
Mastodon - Blood and Thunder
Pantera - 5 Minutes Alone
Pantera - Walk
The Human Abstract - Polaris

I'll post more if I think of any.

i know a bunch more, i'll post them when i remember them.

if you drop the 6th string down, it'll be in Drop C, which is also a cool tuning.

let me know if you need any Drop C songs. until then, i'll just keep posting D standard stuff.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

anything by cky if you are into them.
all you need for that sound is d standard tuning and some sort of an octave effect.

Necrophagist, loads of their stuff is D standard.
If you can play it, that is...

Also Metallica's Whiskey in the Jar cover is cool.

Death- Voice of the Soul

Such an amazing song, and rediculously fun to play.

Sea of Lies - Symphony X. In fact nearly all (if not all) of Symphony X's stuff is tuned down 1 step.

If you're looking for Drop D (DADGBE) however, Killing In The Name Of - Rage Against The Machine.
