I play guitar In my metal band and I am having problems getting the vocals loud through my pa without feedback in our practice space. This is do to the singers vocal method being very very quiet. I was wondering if it would b reasonable to run him through an amp of some sort to get it louder than it would b coming from him and then micing the amp into the pa?

Nah nah, get him to get some proper voice training. Then he WOULD NOT NEED A MICROPHONE. HIS VOICE WOULD BE (****ING) POWERFUL.

you guys have the same trouble my band does.
I've heard that hooking up the PA system to powered speakers might help, never gotten powered speakers though so idk if that will work. but most amps won't help much; if you're desperate though, go tubed, not digital.

make sure speakers are far away enough to the mic and pointing in another direction. turn everyone else down..90% of rock/metal bands rehearse too loud.

Uhhh, he must suck at vocals.

Is he SINGING, or is he some dork trying to do sissy inhaled screams? If so, fire him right away.

no Inhaled screams and none of this has helped me in any way with my question.

that's because the only sensible solution is to either get him to sing louder or to turn everything else down.
