I'm an avid death metal fan and when I heard about the genre "deathcore" I was slightly scepticle. Why combine metalcore and death metal? I changed my mnid almost immediatly. It is brutal and uncompromising. But recently some of the bands have gone in a differenet direction *cough* ALL SHALL PERISH *cough*. I created this thread to have open discussions on deathcore in general and what people think about it.

If it isn't rap i'm cool with it.

How has grunge not lasted? Melvins, Hole, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains and so on all still producing killer albums.

But on topic, what bands are you calling deathcore? If its what im thinking I like it, a bit more 'br00tal' than death metal but agree it probaly won't be as long standing as death metal has been.

Hole weren't grunge..nore are they together. We're also not sure about the new AiC album yet. Most "deathcore" bands are very similar and pretty lame IMO.

John Entwistle once in a while. I had to try to find him when I saw The Who two years ago.

I'm not saying i take most fad genres seriously but deathcore is devloping into more than a fad genre it has been around almost 10 years now.
