Alright, so I had a schecter c1 plus before I got my les paul studio, and now I pretty much use it as my "single coil guitar" (I use the coil tap that the guitar has).

Now I am thinking of selling my schecter c1 plus for $300-400 on craigslist, and buying a used fender standard mexican made stratocaster/telecaster with the money I make from selling the schecter.

What do you guys think of this idea? Good idea or bad? And why?

I don't think you'd have to go used for a Mex man, arn't MIM Tele's around the 300 mark new in the US? Maybe try find a used HWY 1 or something?

The new models for 2009 went up 50 bucks, they are now 450USD. But they are great guitars.

OP, I've always been a huge fan of mexican standard strats. Go for it, just make sure you play many different standards until you find the one that fits you.
