Three band EQ simply means you can adjust the lows, miss, and highs. The EQ has nothing to do with how many inputs this unit has or how many tracks it can send.

Yamaha makes great products but this mixer/interface is USB and will mix all of the inputs down to a single stereo track before sending it down the USB cable and into the computer. If you want to track more than two inputs at once without mixing down, it's a good idea to to with a firewire interface such as a PreSonus FP10

Best to go Firewire. The EQs offered in most good recording programs stock are great multiband ones that can adjust their width (Q), center frequency, and type: they can really shape (or destroy) your sound.
