I'm listening to Holy Diver (Dio version, I wanna make that clear so I don't get my ass kicked for listening to KSE's clearly superior version), and the middle section from 3:07 to 2:40 sounds like the part in Stairway before the second solo, i.e. "to be a rock and not to roll" section of Stairway. Did I just discover this or did I just create a pointless thread about something that's really old?

If the above paragraph is pointless, then just post songs you think sound like other songs.

Hey, I thought KsE's version was good his voice is good. The screaming part eats monkey poo, but the rest was pretty alright.

Anywho, I've noticed that BTBAM's "Selkies" sounds almost exactly like that one King Crimson song (totally forgot the name), and...Oh, and Volbeat's "The Human Instrument". The intro sounds EXACTLY like a Marilyn Manson song. To me.

Oh! Skierinanutshel, Jango's timeline moves from the length of the song down to 0:00, not from 0:00 to the end.

ah...ok i get it now.....i thought some sort of time-shift paradox was happening.

also, "walk alone" and "upside down" by jack johnson are very similar. same artist though, so not sure how much it counts.

edit: and the end to "punk rock classic" by RHCP sounds eerily similar to the beginning of "sweet child o' mine" by GnR.

Sure Dio's version is cheesy, but it was the '80s. What wasn't cheesy?

And guys, I meant songs from different artists that sound alike.

I always thought selkies sounded alot like constant motion by dream theater, but its prob. because there both in 7/4 or something like that, love both of those songs

I disagree. The songs have a similar-sounding arpeggio at the beginning, but that's all that's really similar. You can't really call a song a "rip off" based on a very short section of it that sounds like another; if you did, then every song is a rip off of another song.

Want to hear something crazy guys?

Listen to Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground by The White Stripes, 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago, and Brain Stew by Green Day.

All the same bro. Chicago wins by like 30 or 40 years though.
