Hey guys, this is my first post so if I'm in the wrong forum I'm really sorry, I just didn't see one that was about vocalists and this seemed close. I'm in a band, and we recently had a show which seemed to go pretty well. There were small issues here and there, but the thing that kept coming up from other people was the issue of our singer. He can sing very well when he's singing melodically, but when he screams or shouts it doesn't seem to sound as good.

This is one of the songs, I think he does very well in this one, because it's all melodic, and I think it works great with the song. I'm the lead guitarist, and I know there were parts when I was off.

In this one he shouts at certain parts, and I was told by a few people that his vocals sounded off here and there. There also seems to be an instance during the solo when the drummer comes off beat, but maybe I'm just hearing things.

This is another one that mainly deals with melodic singing, I think. I don't think he did bad here.

As well as this last one. I was told there were problems here too.

Any advice and feedback is appreciated, please let us know what you think. Thank you.

screaming isn't actually just shouting (unless of course you're in a punk band) i have a "how to scream" tutorial in my profile, its intended for people that know what they're doing singing wise. if he knows how to sing with his diaphragm i might have him give it a listen.

He seems to only be able to practice once a week when we do rehearsals, do you think it would be better if he was able to practice more?
