Well, I recently just got invited into a band ...
Supposedly we plan to compose original songs and play about 5 cover songs just to get the audience in the mood.
Now ... me and the other guitarist we're both very good.
We plan on like "alternating" solos on the songs, I don't know I think it could be fun ...
So, we would both be basically changing from a rythm guy to a lead guy in the song and that kind of stuff.
When we compose, I think that will be a very cool thing because, well... we both have like similiar but different personalities, and it would give an intresting twist to the songs ...
Pretty much like Dragonforce you know??
They alternate solos then they harmonize ...
So... what do you guys think of this ??

Sounds original, I don't think Avenged Sevenfold has done this yet.

Don't be a tit, lots of far better bands have done this before.

@TS: I think it's a brilliant idea! Try some Protest The Hero songs!

Iron Maiden has 3 guitarists. They all kinda share leads and rhythm parts.. except Adrian.

Two bass players would fail... miserably.

Yeah.
I mean, being in a band is all about having fun ... and sharing solos does seems very fun ...

If you plan on two completely seperate solos being played at once, learn to counterpoint (but first learn all your theory). If you plan on the same solo played by two guitars, search through the crusade articles. That's my advice.

Two bassists just seems kind of... pointless you know ??
Well... at least in rock music
