Well, I never noticed it before, but my pinky finger on the fretting hand doesn't bend on the joint closest to the fingernail. I fret the string with the pad of the finger. Would my playing be better if I fixed that? Or since I've always played that way, should I just let it go on?
I think it would be better if you corrected it; having the freedom to roll with your pinky leads to some interesting licks if you use it right.
Alright then, I'll get on it. So, to fix it really all it seems like I have to do is keep playing but focus on getting that joint to bend, right?
Yeah, pretty much, but it's more likely to be your hand position rather than your actual finger causing the problem.
Yes, my hand is apparently not out far enough. Thanks guys for the input
