Alright, I need a tube amp. Here are the following restrictions.

-I can settle for combo or head.

-it needs to have a halfway decent distortion channel

-it needs to have a halfway decent clean channel

-it needs to have a 12 inch speaker if its a combo

now heres the fun part...

my budget is 350 bucks

other helpful info-

-i have a gibson les paul studio (the good one with maple top, not the crap one thats all mahagony)

- I love drop tunings especially drop b and d

-I love modern rock like:sevendust, black stone cherry, chevelle, tool, etc.

Used is your only chance. Look at Peavey.

Heard good things about B-52 amps as well.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

a valveking 112 might meet most of those needs, they're 400 new so you should be able to get one for like 300 used.

but IMO, it doesn't have a nice distortion. not compared to like a marshall anyway. but if you use a nice pedal it should sound pretty good.

do you have a practice amp that you could use the speaker from?
periphery/bulb!

gear:
Ibanez RG7321 w/ D-sonic in bridge

Peavey 5150 mk ii & b52 4x12 cab

line 6 podxt for recording

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

either way, dont ruin a gibson LP with a cheap (translation: crap) amp

Crate V18?

V50 would be better for him. its less heavy to lug it around, and it has a bit more modern, american voicing than the V18. good idea though, cant believe i didnt think of that

Used Classic 30's go for $300, used VK's, $250. The VK may be better for what you play. Ever try searching craigslist?
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

It is pretty sick. Blues Jr's for $275-300 all the time. Well, we don't get the Laney's that often though, occasionally a AOR pops up.
