Overall which would be a better amp a Roland Cube 60 or a Peavey Vypyr 75.

I need something thats good for metal but also has a good clean channel.

They're both really good, I'm glad you're not going for a MG series amp.

It's hard to decide between the two, honestly you should go to GC and try them both out. If I had to say, I would go with the Vypyr.

That's funny- that's exactly what I have. Just purchased the ac-30 and running it through an atavar cabinet. Got the hot rod for clean and the ac-30 for dirty. Maybe the best tone I've ever had and I used mesa for years. I got tired of the high gain stuff and am trying to work on solid tone. I agree, at least give the ac-30 a shot at guitar center or something and I hope it surprises you like it did me! Either way, good luck and best wishes with it- it's always fun getting new gear.

Definitely not. they both kick the crap out of the Spider.
