Don't play that gig, instead invest in an English class.

Oh nevermind, you're from Malaysia. Still, that's just being lazy. The Beatles have some Birthday song, go for that.

There's a good Sufjan Stevens song called something like, "Happy Birthday"
it's all just coming back
it's all coming back

it's all coming back to me

Guys, lay off about his English, English isn't (probably, I really don't know) the first language of Malaysia.

You trying to say all Malaysians speak bad English?

If you're looking for mainstream music listeners here, it's gonna be hard. 90% of UGers are metalheads.

Meh, I bet most people say they are a 'metalhead', but really does like chart music! I mean, I'm a blues/folk guy inside, but I love my Take That!

Play stuff people know and love. SOS by the Jonas Brothers would be nice and 5 Colours In Her Hair by McFly would be awesome too. Maybe Since You've Been Gone by Rainbow, because everyone loves that too, and it's really fun to play.

Most chart music is really fun to play really. But oh well.

You need to look at the group and figure out what they listen too and try and learn it. If the girl is a friend just ask her. I did a little stint with a band that played a lot of weddings and depending on the crowd we would tailor our music accordingly. The people paying for the wedding usually would make suggestions. Simply you need to ask the person throwing the party what you should play.
