Title ^

I was asked to play in a recital thing at some church, and I can't sing at all and therefore I need a instrumental, as its kind of short notice (only like two weeks untill) and I won't be able to find a singer.

I'm a okay guitarist, I'm not some master but I'm no begginner either..

What could I play for it?

Belguim Tom's Hat Trick by Whitesnake, easy enough but you'd have to work it out. Oh well.

suicide and redemption-metallica.

a lot of fifth chords and octave chords. you don't even have to play the solos the rhythms should sound good enough.

Could probably get Big Sur Moon by Buckethead down. The song is simple and short, maybe a few tough spots, but you could probably figure it out if you practice. It also sounds incredible with the right delay.

Green Onions

You'd have to get a Hammond organ though for that one.

Little Wing?
Improv?

Look into quite a few Hendrix songs. Most of them would work on your own.

Ten Words by Joe Satriani is incredibly easy. The solo may be tough if you aren't a confident soloist.
Some Buckethead is pretty easy too.
But not one person in the crowd won't have heard Apache by the Shadows, do that.

That's a pain to learn. It is easy but takes a LOT of remembering.

I don't think it's that hard - it's pretty much all chord shapes, everything else fits nicely into familiar scale patterns.

Deffinately canon man, surprised it took that long for someone to say it. But he might not have time to learn the entire thing tho.

You could always turn a song into an instrumental. Find a fairly eay song and take out the lyrics and then just modify it so its more melodic. I like doing that.
#38
Pretty much anything by the Shadows (they had the first number 1 with an instrumental here in the UK). You could try Apache, easy but sounds good and a lot of people will know it.
#39
Dee by Randy Rhoads, fairly simple, doesn't need any backing at all.
