Ok so I think delay pedals are really sexy and I've been looking at 3 of Boss's delay pedals.

DD-3 Cheap, I hear it kix butt.

DD-7 A little more $$ is it really worth it?

and

DD-20 Alot more $$, but has loop capabilities? <is this true? am I better off just getting a loop by itself?

I was wonder if you guys could give me a low down on these and help me decide.

I would suggest the DD-20 because even tho it a little more expensive than the stomp box delays, it is much more versatile in the long run.
I have two friends who own the DD-20 and they both agree that it's the best investment they have ever made.
Guitars:
Ibanez RGR321EX
Schecter Omen 7 (with Dimarzio D-Sonic in bridge and Air Norton in neck)

Boss TU-2 Tuner

The DD-7 has loop capabilities (albeit pretty basic ones).

I've only got experience with the DD-7 but it's a very good pedal, I'd certainly recommend it. Nice and "natural" sounding.

i have a dd-3. it sounds cliche, but it does exactly what i want.

i didn't get a chance to try out the higher end delay pedals but the dd-3 is very solid so i'm assuming as you go up they only get better.

You can't set the tap tempo on the DD-7?

depends what you want, if you just want delay the dd3 is fine...the dd7 has a few more delay types and it has a basic looper...i don't think you'll need the dd20 unless your basing all your sound/guitar work around looping and radical delays
