Firstly, yay, it's good to be back in the Bass Forum.

Secondly, found an awesome video of Mic Todd, my altime favourite bass player playing some Jaco at a gig. Yay.

Basically, I'm not happy with my current bass tone and wanted some advice as to what I'd need to twiddle to get a similar tone to this bad boy. ere's a linkie: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jHa_JmAqMjw&feature=related

I've been getting by with a slight mid-scoop and the tone controls on my bass (I play a Stingray HH) but I want to be able to get there with toneshaping on my amp (it's got a 7 band EQ) so any advice?

I know he plays a J-Bass but we both use a fairly percussive fingstyle and I just love the warm but punchy low-end he provides.

He's also an insane bassist.

Thanks in advance for the help.
