For playing metal and shred guitar on.

iv been playing my starter strat copy for a wile now and want a step up. but really cant afford to spend much at all.

if possible i prefer a neck with a gloss paint coat.
#2
peavey do some quite cheap shred guitars
really good quality as well for the price imo

Depends what series. If the Rhoads you tried was a JS30 Rhoads then I should think it'll be the same. But yeah Jackson necks are all pretty similar out of the guitars I've tried, which is quite a few. Personally I think they're the best necks. But yeah obviously it's a matter of personal preferance.

How about the Jackson JS30 Kelly? 24 frets and it looks ace

The Jackson JS series are pretty shoddy, avoid them.

Best guitar in your budget is probably this.

250 "retard" dollars will buy about 400 "good ole american dollars"

some of the lags are quite nice too, just get one without a locking trem. the roxanne, i think.

or if you can stretch to £300, a washburn x50pro would be cool.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

We had our currency first and you're talking OUR languge. Watch yourself.

Ibanez, either the RG or the S Series or perhaps the SA if that floats your boat.
Jackson JS series.
LTD guitars.

Schecters will probably be a bit too pricey.
I reckon BC Rich do a few decent lower end models too.

no, but if you're asking what i think you're asking, that's probably bad logic. at under £250 you can't really afford to buy a guitar which looks cool, as there's less chance it'll be a good guitar... you need all that money to be going toward the spec, not fancy shapes and paintjobs.

Shockingly enough I concur with this point... Though if you really aren't able to sell your soul to raise the extra £50, then I don't know why you wouldn't buy an X200 pro
