so after playing on 2 last night at my talent show (i need atleast 4 to get the tone i want ) i decided i need an attenuator. especially when i get my splawn

anyway ive almost decided upon this attenuator
100 watt
https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/mass.htm

i like the fact that i can bypass the treble boost and tone stack options on it and also have the ability to use them if needed.

also for 25$ i can have a headphone tap put in so that is very convenient.

a few questions i have is:

does anyone have any experience with this attenuator or any of webers other products?

how much can i attenuate before it starts to suck tone

also i plan on running this amp at half power and in the manual it says "always set the amps impedance to half of the speaker cabs impedance when using half power"

now do i set the attenuator to match the amp's impedance of the cabs impedance ?

Weber makes great speakers, but I can't speak on the attenuators. It seems that they're pretty popular around this site but most gear heads I know swear by the Ho/Ultimate Attenuator.

As for tone sucking, it varies from attenuator, but if you're attenuating all the way, its going to suck tone, there is no real way around it. I think in general, people have said not to attenuate more than -8dB. You're losing more than just tone and natural dynamics from the amp, you're also losing tone from the fact that you're not pushing the speakers.

Bro, that thing is 100w. as a generization it is 1.5 to 1. So you need a 150w attenuator. Take a peak at the 150w mass III
