I have left my strat on the school bus, and I may never see it again...

Luckily, it was a £30 thing off eBay, so it's no great loss.
I'm looking for a good versatile guitar, mostly for heavy rock, and punk. I'm not to bothered about metal. I guess my main influences would be X-Ray Spex, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and Babyshambles. Preferably, no more than £300...

I was looking at a Burny LP I saw in the guitar shop, that had some P-90 style pups on, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks...

A fender mexi fat strat would be plenty versatile.
You might also want to look into Epi or Agile LP copies.

Depends on your amp.

Fender MIM with HSS pickup configuration or a Yamaha Pacifica 412. I think the Washburn X-50 is available for that money, too, isn't it?
Whatever you do, stay away from Epiphones in that price range. They were great a couple of years back, but ever since they're being produced in China they're way too expensive for what they offer.
