What would you suggest? I want the best sounding guitar in your opinion. I am not really on a budget, but I dont want anything too ridiculous. I was looking at a 59 Reissue Les Paul, but im not really sure.

Thanks
P.S. I have a marshall JVM 410H as my main amp.

See thats the problem. I am interested in a Strat but i play heavier stuff as well as clean and a les paul seems more versatile. I play funk to hard rock i should say. I do not shred or anything like that but...

Agreed on the first half of that sentence, but strongly, STRONGLY disputed on the second half. I'd look personally at a Fender Jazzmaster reissue (or vintage(?)) or a Gibson Es-335.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Panthera Studio Customs by Framus are pretty damn versatile and I ****ing love mine.

Goto a BIG guitar shop and play EVERY guitar.

Then go to ANOTHER shop and do the same.

And then ANOTHER and ANOTHER until you find a guitar that speaks to you.

You'll know which guitar to get. It'll just feel right.

Every man (and woman..though they're a rarity on UG ) to their own.

Fender Classic Player 60's Strat. Not too expensive but it is the best guitar I've ever played. The feel and sound of it are beautiful, even for a Mexican Made Strat.

I'd go with a ibanez or something similar, and maybe get a coil splitter thingamajiggy to go along with it

I know, I know my terminology

Dude, if you can get anything...go to a custom shop and have them build something you want. I know I've always wanted a Jaguar-shaped guitar with a single coil/Jazzmaster pickup/humbucker configuration and whatever else, you gotta know what you want best if you're at that stage so get someone to build yours.

If all you had to go on was the forum you'd think a Decimator could cure noise caused by dodgey stage lighting and restock the ocean's population of sperm whales

personally if I could get any guitar right now I'd get a Les Paul Goldtop.

find some good luthire read up a ****load on guitars no the exact specifications of what you want pay the luither to build it and then you will have a guitar that will do exactly what you want it to.
The problem with this is ist is usually quitwe a timely process waiting for the guitar to be built.

Dude. If you have to ask, you probably do not need a 2000$ guitar.
Just my opinion though, go buy some beer, and some tickets to the dallas cowboys last game in texas stadium

Ormsby first choice, Caparison second choice.

I didn't know Ormsby's were so well known outside Australia... I mean of course they deserve it, but I thought it was just a well kept Perth secret.

Get a PRS Singlecut.
The good one, with the bird inlays.

Simply a guitar build by god himself.

i agree, if you have that sort of money and need a good all rounder PRS is the place to go

I'd say a PRS Custom 22 or perhaps a McCarty/SC250 if you want a bit fatter sound.
