I couldn't find a thread for this so I made one.

Keith Richards - I mean go listen to Satisfaction or Jumpin Jack Flash and if you can't appreciate his work then go throw your guitar in the trash.

James Hetfield - I know there are alot of metallica haters out there but you can't deny his awesome chops. Focus your hate on the guy trying to shred penatonics while rocking madly on his little wah pad.

Izzy Stradlin - His playing had a real badass kind of groove to it.

Kerry King - Yes, I know his solos kind of suck but his riffs are insane.

James Hetfield and Jim Root are my favorit, from Slipknot and Metallica

Edit: Wow, no love for John at all...
They credited us with the birth of that sort of heavy metal thing. Well, if that's the case, there should be an immediate abortion.

Even though hes a lead guitarist, I prefer Hendrix when he played rhythm things like Hey Joe, Castles Made of Sand and The Wind Cries Mary

Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters. Bitchin'.

And James Root kicks ass, too. He's way better than Mick Thompson. Just listen to the Slipknot solos in comparison to Stone Sour solos. No comparison.

rythmn????
if you mean rhythm i would have to say:
Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead
Brendan Bayliss and/or Jake Cinninger from Umphrey's McGee (it really depends on who's taking the solo )

they are really the only two bands i listen to with rhythm guitarist.

Izzy Stradlin, James Hetfield, Roope Latvala, Dave Mustaine, Dave Grohl and probably a few more.

Malcom Young is kinda boring in my opinion, I think he has 1-3 riffs all up.
