THE DOLPHIN SONG

Verse 1

I was sitting there at the old aquarium
Watching those big ole’ sea mammals
I was 6 years old, and I could barely see them
I was so very short, and these were so much better than any other animals

Chorus

And now I wanna be a dolphin when I grow up
I wanna be a dolphin when I grow up
I wanna be a dolphin when I grow up
I wanna be a dolphin so I can swim well in the water

Verse 2

Then I turned into a man some 12 years later
Took some swimming lessons that I enjoyed
I didn’t want to be a crocodile or alligator
Don’t want to be an average boy

Chorus

I wanna be a dolphin when I grow up
I wanna be a dolphin when I grow up
I wanna be a dolphin so I can swim well in the water

Verse 3

Then some mad scientist came up with a plan
He could turn me into a dolphin from the average man
And when I was only eighteen I took up on his deal
And now I am twenty-four, a dolphin and it’s real

Chorus

And now I am a dolphin and I’m grown up
I’m finally a dolphin and I’m grown up
I’m glad I’m a dolphin so now I can swim well in the water

Bridge

Didn’t want to be an alligator, crocodile, snake or any other
I knew things would just work out
I’m a proud little dolphin in the deep blue sea
And everybody in the aquarium is looking at me

I know I’m not a freak, from my fluke and to my beak, I’m a dolphin..

*Note: A "fluke" is the dolphin's end of their tale*

Well critique I suppose

You are my favorite August 08er, sir!

One day, when the time has come,
The truth will shine, we'll never run.
We both know just how feel,
I'm praying to god that this is real.
