Hey, I was thinking about getting one of these

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Kramer-Striker-Custom-S424CR-Electric-Guitar?sku=515348

Has anyone had any prior experience with one of these? If so, is it a good deal?

Thanks in advance

i havent had any experience with it but it looks like a nice guitar, especially for the price. If i had looked at it in a store i would have thought it was 5X the actual price.

Kramer Strikers are amazing guitars! Get one! I've got one and I LOVE it! There's two problems I have with mine. The tremolo is made of ****ty metal but, you don't look like you're going to buy one with a trem. It's also a VERY heavy guitar. Other than those things, it's an amazing guitar for the price.

EDIT: Just to tell you, mine sounds as good as my $500 Epi Les Paul. I played both of them through an MG (unfortunately, that's all I've got) and they sounded exactly the same!

www.musicyo.com

thats the place where these originate.

They have new models for around the same price with a licensed kramer floyd rose system installed.

Or you could fork out a couple hundred extra bux and go the US series Baretta's and Pacers, they have OFR's on them (Original Floyd Rose) made by schaller in germany.

best of luck mate.

Could these possibly be crappy POS guitars? Where are the strikers made? Have they been poorly constructed. Anyone else here own one?

I'm actually pretty interested in these, i've always loved the way they look and i finally found a UK website selling them for £180, bargain! It's a shame this one only comes with a rosewood board though, i love the look of maple but they don't sell the maple ones over here Yet!!

I have a Striker Custom 424CM and they are good for the price. I enjoy it but try before you buy. Neck on them is great, so is the body and my trem stays in tune very well even after dive bombs all the way down. Only downside for me are the pickups but those can be swapped.

I kinda was wondering about the pacer
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Kramer-Pacer-FT211S-Electric-Guitar?sku=515338

sorry to steal your thread TS, I didn't wanna make a whole new thread. and This one will probably call all the kramer experts anyways.

Don't get it, its a plywood body. Not worth it.
The original 80's Pacers were the sh*t, USA made and their top line. The new overseas ones aren't worth it.

someone told me they were made of plywood, dunno if thats true though

edit: just read the post above me, they are plywood, which makes a bad wood for guitars.

my brother has a kramer focus that he got used at a local guitar shop(which is now closed). im guessing its from the 90s, its alright, never really cared for the necks on them though, they dont feel right to me.

Its not about the Radio its about talent, the front man has a bigger vocal range than Micheal Jackson and he can sing from heavey metal to high pitched ...No.12 on the top 20 under rated guitarists of ALL TIME...etc

If you really have to have a Kramer, these new ones are NOT worth it. They're but a fraction of what the originals were. Look for the vintage ones - those I'll play and buy any day. The prices will be higher of course, but worth every penny.

I wasn't really thinking of getting a Pacer. The strikers are the only super strats in my price range and they are made of Alder. No hope of getting the older Kramers as they are in the 1k price range.
