I'm running Boss RC-50 looper into my Spider III, and the preset loops that came on it are fun to jam with, but because the effects I use are on the Spider, the drums get distorted along with the guitar and sound like crap. Does anyone know a way around this?

It's supposed to be run in the effects loop, i.e. before the amp's distortion.

You're probably running it through the font end - it's going to take any effect you put on the guitar tone as well that way.

You need to put it through the FX loop in the back.
Or get a better amp with an FX loop. Spiders are awful things... The amps, not the bugs.

Technically, spiders aren't bugs, they're arachnids. Bugs don't have 8 legs.

I don't think I understand what you're saying. On the back of the amp?

Look at the back of your amp - there should be an effects loop output (send) and input (return). That's where the looper should go.

May not have an FX loop. It will say FX send/return or line in/out. If it dont then not much you can do.

spiders dont have effects loops, they dont want you to use external effects with it. The only option around it is to buy a better amp.

your gonna need to either play clean w/o effects or buy a new amp that has an effects loop. you could also buy a distortion pedal and put it in front of the looper, but getting an amp would be better in the long run.
