Ok with christmas around the corner, i was thinking of getting a 12 string acoustic guitar but i have a few questions

1. are the strings easier to break when tuning?

2. is the sound quality better? or is it alot of useless noise

3. how would i tune the strings?

4. when i tune half step down, drop c, so forth... do i tune them all or just the normal 6

5. what are the string names aside from EADGBe?

6. any specific ones i should look into?

thanks in advance

Go ask the instrument forums.

But really, you sound like you have no idea what the point of a 12-string is. Do you really need one?

You obviously have no idea what a 12 string is, judging from the questions you asked.

for question 5, the thinner strings adjacent to each string are an octave higher.

For the bass strings. The treble strings are in unison.

This question alone leaves me wondering whether you should own a guitar at all.

Trust me man, it's Smoke on the Water. Deep Purple only wrote one song.

This question leaves the debate open, whether you should own a guitar at all. Please, research!
