So I found it on craigslist for $120 (with tuner, case, stand, ect.) and I just want it basically trick it out. I know that I'm gonna repaint it and swap the pickup. What else should I do that will help improve the guitar?

Locking tuners, maybe put on a tune o matic tailpiece of somesort, so you can fix intonation. Maybe electronics, since the stock stuff might be a bit basic.

Or you could save your money onto something that already has that, just to save time. Of course, it's up to you but yeah.

^I'm doing this more to learn how to build/mod guitars than for the actual result, and the guitar's cheap enough I'll be okay with it if i mess up.

For all who say replace the bridge. what wraparound bridge would you recomend? or are you all saying get a full tuneomatic bridge/tailpiece?

BTW, whats the best P-90 I can get to throw in it?

EDIT: Oh, and recomendations on locking tuners?

for the tuners, go on ebay, find some used locking tuners, grovers, schallers, ect.
for the bridge, im talkin something like this: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/TonePros-Standard-Locking-TuneomaticTailpiece-Set-small-postsnotched-saddles?sku=306141 a set

or get a bigsby
i might go ebay with those, too.
for the p-90, do you want it stacked or do you want it true single coil?(i myself would go single coil)

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

^it doesn't already have a P-90, I'm putting one in.
and once I purchase it I'll make a thread in GB&C full of pics galore.

Oh, and what tuners specifically would be considered the best for this job?
And I haven't decided with the P-90 yet, will getting it stacked just cut the hum? or adjust the tone?
