Hey, so yet another recommendation thread.

I'm looking for a 4 string bass, something that i can get a good post rock style tone from, along the lines of Explosions in the Sky and Russian Circles.

I've been looking at Spector Legend Classic 4, and i just wondered if you guys had any other ideas i should try before i buy anything.

My budget is around £400-500

Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations

Spectors are good, and sexy.

say not to Dean.

MIM Fender maybe. definitely look at used stuff.

+1 on Ibanez and Spector. or Schecter too.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

If you can find a Schecter Stilletto custom bass for that price they're pretty good.
I'd even venture to say that it sounds better than my Fender MIM because of the pups.
No, it sounds just as good as the MIM (with american parts).
