Guitar.
Unless you mean an actual Starcaster, and not Fender's ****ty Wal-Mart brand Strat copies.
GHOST BLOWJOB!
WHOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I would go with a guitar, but i don't like strats, however if you're comfortable with the guitar, i would go with pickups, they can change the sound of your guitar

just get a new guitar cuz strats have single coil pups, which r REALLY nice for playing clean and blues. if u get a new guitar, u also get a nice pair of pups, plus a new guitar

I'd go for amp; it changes the sound more.
Current Gear:
LTD MH-400
PRS SE Custom 24 (Suhr SSH+/SSV)
Ibanez RG3120 Prestige (Dimarzio Titans)
Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz V
Audient iD22 interface
Peavey Revalver 4, UAD Friedman BE100/DS40
Adam S3A monitors

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

not in that price range unless you're getting a lucky deal on a used one.

what kinda music do you play and what amp do you have ?

haha, a gibson for $400-500? ...excluding the melody maker

Well, Gibson won't be in your range. Look for Epiphone though.

cheap amp (thinking of buying another as well) and i play almost any kind of rock,
from alternative/inde to hard rock/metal

get a new guitar first, then save for a new amp...the Starcaster just has to go...

hahaha, k dude, know any other good brand apart from epiphone?

and, what kind of epiphone should i buy?
#17
much better off to try out some epi's and see how you like them...if you like an epi enough then go for it,its easy to change the pickups later on to get it sounding almost the exact same as a gibson but cheaper

What music do you play?

Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ SD Alnico Pro II's
Fender Aerodyne Telecaster & Stratocaster
Marshall JCM 800 4104 combo
