Hello ther UGers!

I know, I know... another which distortion pedal thread (at leat not another "Which amp?" thread ).

So, I've got a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 60 amp, which has a really nice clean channel, but the overdrive channel sucks, because it's muddy and doesn't cut through in band situation. For lower gain bluesy stuff it's ok, but nothing higher gain (for higher gain I mean eg: Guns 'N' Roses).

My Ibanez Smashbox is way too metal and doesn't sound very nice, and my Zoom G2.1u is too digital (I'm trying to sell them).
So, I'm looking for a nice, kind of marshally, not very expensive distortion pedal.
I was thinking about the Marshall Guv'nor, the Digitech Hardwire SC-2 Valve Distortion, or a hungarian pedalmaker's pedal, the Kasleder The Rocker pedal.
Here's some info, and some audio and video files about it: http://www.kasledereffects.com/index.php?lang=eng&menu=rocker_eng
(Unfortunately he's using a Marshall tube amp, so it obviously sounds great )

So what do you guys think, which would be the best? Or can you recommend anything else?
And please don't recommend buying a tube amp, because I don't really have the money for it now, and sometime in the future I want to buy a H&K Statesman amp anyway, but not now.

Thanks. And sorry for the long text.

I had a marshall jackhammer, the OD channel sounded good but the Distortion channel sucked. You can get them for around £35

Perhabs is better to save ur money and buy a tube amp later :O But I can really Suggest the Rat: http://www.ratdistortion.com/products.htm (Rat 2) these cost a bit much for just a distortion pedal (85 euros) But the quality is really really good, it sounds awesome and it doesnt break when you let a truck drive over it :P xD

Yeah, I was also thinking of the Rat, I might check them out.

Unfortunately here in Hungary, amps cost a lot of money, so it takes a lot of time to save up for a nice tube amp (around 1000 Euro), and I could get these pedals around 50 Euro, so for a while a distortion pedal would be a better solution in my opinion.

I had a marshall guv'nor 2 and used it on an edition blue 15 watt, works great, if you want to have your amp sound like a marshall.

The Deep knob was cool to play around with. Good value pedal for the money

The guy who mentioned the rat knows his stuff as well.
