Which one is most capable of producing a nice thrashy tone? Theres alot of models out there, so which one is the best? I was shopping them around earlier and say about 3 or 4 different models.

I'd probably be better off with an 800... I know. I want the versatility of an extra channel though. Drop some knowledge on me UG!

Big difference of JCM800vJCM900 is the JCM900 has diodes that clip the signal for distortion, so you aren't just getting an extra channel

Only two out of the four JCM 900 models have a diode in the pre to generate gain. Not all of them do.
The 900 has more gain than the 800, but the 800 has a better overall tone.
900's sound best at mid gain levels with an od pedal pushing the front end.

The 2100 SLX and 2500 SLX do not have diodes in the preamp.
